The UFC on Versus televised card, which takes place Aug. 1 at the San Diego Sports Arena in California, is official with 11 reported bouts. Multiple fighters out of the Midwest grace the upcoming UFC on Versus Card and we highlighted a few of them along with their matchups for their upcoming bouts.

On Friday, August 6, Midwest Cage Championship will return to Veterans Auditorium for the most explosive fight card of 2010. MCC 28: "Impact" will feature UFC veterans, exciting up and coming stand-outs, and some of the promotions most popular mixed martial artists. Fresh off the heels of one of the most impressive events in MCC's history; MCC 27: "Mutapcic vs. Cummings", the Midwest's top MMA promotions looks to repeat its performance in delivering a top notch show for the fight fans.
First, Midwest Fighters Focus is honored and humbled to be the source of this release, as it has not been made public anywhere else. As most know, Tree passed on to another arena after his last bout in the cage. Many words could be said or spoken here, but they will not. The Kirkham family through CJ Encheff chose MFF to release their thoughts and feelings, so here are their words regarding much more than just the passing of Mike Kirkham.

I've heard so much crying about Brock Lesnar and "if it had been anyone else they would have stopped it" and etc., that it prompts me to do some writing about the subject. Lesnar is a wrestler. I don't believe his skills have been greatly improved beyond his base, but they have in fact improved (I admit as much, but really don't care for him).
Acquaintances and competitors Jimmy Seipel and Drew Dober take to the cage in a rematch of their amateur MMA bout which saw Dober come out with the W. Earlier than we at MFF anticipated, the two will face off in the VFC to see what improvements to their games have happened since both turned pro!
Charlie Dubray, probably one of MFF's top picks last year of an "up and coming" fighter on the pro side of MMA in the Midwest, shows his moxie in taking on tough fighter after tough fighter after even tougher fighters.
With a 10-2 amateur record and a fledgling pro MMA career just getting ready to begin, Matthew Roewer could seem on the outside like so many other Mixed Martial Artists. Training out of Delarosa's Submission Wrestling in Rockford, Illinois, and Matt Hughes' HIT Squad, this hearing impaired fighter seems poised to make some noise.

It can be argued that mixed martial arts has become the fastest- growing sport in the U.S. Some of the the sport's top fighters, like Chuck Liddell, Randy Couture and Georges St. Pierre, are household names. Ryan Gream of Rantoul has been a longtime fan of the sport and has been wrestling for most of his life.
